1.    Do you use a flash for outdoor portraits?

The reason you ask this is have you ever seen a outdoor picture and the lighting just didn't look believable. That's because they use a flash and it makes portraits with people in them just look unnatural. It looks very flat and unflattering! I never use a flash outdoors, because I want my subjects to look their best and very natural!

2.     How will I view my images?

You want a photographer that can show you your images on a large screen. If you view them as a small size, you wont be able to see expressions on each family member.

3.     What will the photography cost me?

Many photographers will charge extra for any retouching or artwork that needs to be done. Check to see what the session fee will be. Also do they charge more for extra groupings? We never charge for retouching or artwork and extra groupings are the same price whatever the session fee is!

4.     How long has the photographer been in business?

I have seen some great work from new photographers photographing weddings and engagement pictures. But when it comes to photographing a family with younger children and teenagers along with maybe grandma & grandpa, they will need to work quick but also bring out great expressions on the family.
